The Lowen Lab is recruiting post-docs! Join us at Emory University, Atlanta, to do exciting fundamental virology on influenza A viruses. Major research areas include viral evolution, transmission and virus-virus interactions.
Interested in RNA viruses? We are recruiting post-doctoral fellows to the Sagan Lab. If you are at the Keystone Positive-Strand RNA Viruses Meeting #KSRNAvirus22, come chat with me tomorrow at Poster#3009!
Happy to announce that our work demonstrating the importance of signalling lipid phosphatidic acid for replication organelle biogenesis of both HCV and SARS-CoV-2 is published today https://t.co/EctZbqa5GT #DMVs#Lipids#Phosphatidicacid#Covid19 (1/5)
Some have already found it, but really glad we can share this manuscript! It’s been great fun to work with Sara Goetz & Herman Fung on developing a platform for automating and developing cryoFIB workflows. A small (non-perfect) #Chlamy milling example I had lying around attached.
**POSTDOCTORAL POSITION**
A new postdoc position is open in the #Cortese lab @Tigem_Telethon. The lab's research will be focused on the mechanisms of #SARSCOV2 induced pathogenesis. Start July 2021, duration 3 years with possible renewal. More details at: https://t.co/8DLTLiBCwK
Honored that our reporter cell line is featured on the cover of the current issue of @JVirology! Read the fully formatted version here https://t.co/FM9AYEqVb0.
SARS-CoV-2 reshaping of subcellular morphologies: @mirkocortese @SchwabYannick &Bartenschlager use integrative imaging to reveal morphological alterations induced by #SARSCoV2 in lung cells—ER-derived vesicles, cytoskeleton remodeling & Golgi fragmentation https://t.co/0nWe8MrsBa
Our latest work using scRNAseq on SARS-CoV-2 infection of human intestinal organoids. The immune response in the gut appears very different compare to the one set up in the lung. together with @thalexandrov and Carl Hermann (HD) https://t.co/RreI3Rm0tt
1) SARS-CoV-2 Vaccines - I promised a Tweetorial and here we go. This is going to be long and nerdy. But I'll make sure it is easy to understand. If you want more details, please just read this: https://t.co/XBnamI2pKk
Excited to share the preprint of our reporter system for detection of cells infected with dengue virus and SARS-CoV-2 suitable for live cell imaging and antiviral screening.

A paper in Nature reveals the structures of the SARS-CoV-2 spike trimers in situ on intact virions. The findings provide a basis to understand interactions between spike protein trimers and neutralizing antibodies during infection or vaccination. https://t.co/6n18xdtS2K
Congrats to Stephan Urban for getting EU approval for the first drug against hepatitis D. Some 25 years ago this started on the bench as a very basic project and identified the virus ligand for cell entry. A small peptide of it is now the drug. ‘Miracles’ sometimes do happen.
