ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 5 ವರ್ಷದೊಳಗಿನ 2,60,002 ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಪೋಲಿಯೋ ಲಸಿಕೆ ನೀಡುವ ಗುರಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ 1,260 ತಂಡಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿವೆ.

ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮಗುವಿಗೂ ತಪ್ಪದೇ ಎರಡು ಹನಿ ಪೋಲಿಯೋ ಲಸಿಕೆ ಹಾಕಿಸಿ.

It's fascinating that three of the most important developments in Indian science happened not in a laboratory or lecture hall, but in the most unlikely of places, on board a ship on an ocean voyage.
The first was in 1893, on a voyage from Yokohama to Vancouver, when Swami Vivekananda met Jamsetji Tata & inspired him to create an institute that merged the humanism of the east with the science and Technology of the west. That's how the Indian Institute of Science started.
In 1930, Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar won a scholarship to study at Cambridge & while aboard the ship to England did the bulk of the work on the Chandrashekhar Limit for stars, for which he would later be awarded a Nobel Prize. This was, amazingly, before his 20th birthday.
And in 1921, 9 years earlier, CV Raman, returning home from Oxford on a sea voyage was dazzled by the deep blue of the Mediterranean and decided to study the scattering of Light. The 'Raman Effect' won him a Nobel Prize in 1930.
Raman was so confident of getting the Nobel Prize after missing out in 1928 and 1929 that he booked his ocean voyage tickets to Sweden months before he knew he had won.

The Government of India has announced the Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar (RVP) 2025, honouring the nation’s leading scientists, technologists, and innovators for their pathbreaking contributions across 13 scientific domains.

Instituted to recognise excellence across lifetime achievements, distinguished contributions, young innovation, and collaborative breakthroughs, the awards are conferred under the following four categories, with the awardees of 2025 being:

● Prof. Jayant Vishnu Narlikar, Posthumously, for his contributions in physics, has been awarded the Vigyan Ratna.

● Eight scientists have been awarded the Vigyan Shri

● 14 scientists have been awarded Vigyan Yuva, and

● The CSIR Aroma Mission Team has been awarded the Vigyan Team Award in Agricultural Science.

The Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India congratulates all 24 individual and team awardees of RVP 2025.

The Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar is the nation’s highest recognition for outstanding and inspiring contributions by scientists, technologists, and innovators in diverse fields of science, technology, and technology-led innovation.
