Thank you @AlexFinn to give me the motivation to comeback on Linux for my second computer after so many year on Mac. @dhh the product is amazing ! Let’s install and see what inside.
Small Grok Bot issue now.
Potentially massive one later.
Right now, deleting a Bot from your team also deletes the public template.
Now imagine 3 months from now.
A Bot gets added to a marketplace.
Thousands of people save the link.
The creator deletes it from their team.
Now every one of those links stops working.
This needs separating:
→ Delete from my team
→ Delete public template
Otherwise the web is eventually going to be full of dead Grok Bot links.
And people will just assume the templates don’t work.
@oliviaakory The text vs shopping split is the part worth staring at. Text answers get absorbed into the summary, shopping still needs a click to actually buy. Curious if you see the same gap by query intent inside the text campaigns.
@iPullRank More links is the easy ask. The harder one is an off switch people will actually use, and a citation that points at the creator page not a Google hop.
@glenngabe The auto expanding part is what worries me for tracking. If the expanded state pulls a different set of sources, the citations we log today are not the ones users actually see.
@sejournal Mentions without the prompt, the model, and whether anyone clicked are just a vanity count. The number I actually show clients is how often we are the cited URL on a buying question, week over week. Everything else is a screenshot.
@Kevin_Indig Taking Show more away is Google betting the summary is enough. If your brand is not named in that first screen, you basically do not exist on the query.
@lilyraynyc That goto wrapper is why citation reports lie. The model names a brand, the URL is a Google hop, and nothing lands in analytics. If Copilot is doing it too, the tracking problem is now every surface, not just ChatGPT.
@watilo 280k impressions in AI results on a hobby site is the part most brands should be staring at. Niche sites with real first hand detail get pulled into those answers way more often than the polished corporate pages. Congrats on six years of it.
@marty_kausas On the marketing side the highest leverage thing is not a new tool, it is a weekly log of how ChatGPT and AI Mode answer your category questions and who they cite. Cheap to run, and it tells you which docs to rewrite before you buy anything.
