Single Cell Genomics Day starts tomorrow at 10AM ET!
Come for the awesome keynotes (@JD_Buenrostro , Xiaowei Zhuang, @IdoAmitLab) and to learn about our favorite new methods and trends for the field in the last year. All talks streamed on Youtube and https://t.co/KJpeGwWLIr
AWSOM2024 (Atlanta Workshop on Single-cell Omics, April 11-12, https://t.co/maSCrZBuG0) is in 3 weeks! Keynote speakers are
@jmuiuc@DrJasPlummer@ioavlachos
and myself. Hope to see more of you who are interested in single cell and spatial omics at this event!
CSE Graduate Student Association (GSA) is hosting a career panel on March 13th! Come meet us in the CSE Workshop Room at noon to ask our faculty questions about planning for a career after graduation!
Also, lunch will be provided! More info 👇

On both simulated and real data, LinRace outputs more accurate cell division trees than existing methods. Moreover, Lin Race can output the cell states (cell types) of ancestral cells, which is rarely performed with existing lineage reconstruction methods. 🎄

LinRace is now published @NatureComms! https://t.co/hGl0s3XpGg We are grateful to the reviewers for their valuable time& constructive comments which helped us to improve the paper substantially, and the editorial team for processing our manuscript very efficiently. @xinhai_pan
Thrilled to share the final publication of CellTag-multi, a strategy in which CellTag lineage barcodes can be captured in both scRNA-seq and scATAC-seq assays allowing for independent tracking of clonal transcriptional and epigenomic state, with

Since the discovery of CRISPR-Cas systems, people have wondered if a similar type of system exists in eukaryotes. Today, we report in @Nature the characterization of Fanzor, a eukaryotic RNA-guided system that can be reprogrammed for human genome editing. https://t.co/aKLMMEBRkk
Excited to share our new preprint, LinRace, an integrated method to reconstruct cell division lineage tree using single cell barcode and gene expression data. https://t.co/FLSLzC76O9 work by @xinhai_pan and coauthors (1/3)
Need an up-to-date #TreeofLife for teaching/conferences/wall paper? Talented PhD student @BasileBeaud drew a schematic consensus ToL from the most recently published phylogenies. Hope this is useful! Downloadable version in the thread👇
The "genius" @elonmusk was a year ahead of me @PtaBoysHigh. Every year they gave awards to those "worthy of praise" (digni laude). Perhaps it's not a big surprise that Musk was never deemed "worthy of praise".
OK, debates about the necessity or "priors" (or lack thereof) in learning systems are pointless.
Here are some basic facts that all ML theorists and most ML practitioners understand, but a number of folks-with-an-agenda don't seem to grasp.
