ETHIOPIA ― 💥Just three days after its formation, the 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 (𝐀𝐅𝐒), a coalition of seven armed and political groups, has announced the beginning of a coordinated counter-offensive against government forces on all fronts.

In a statement issued today, the alliance declared the start of what it described as a coordinated counter-offensive against “on all fronts.”

The offensive was reportedly followed by rapid developments across several regions.

Earlier in the day, Tigray forces reportedly took control of the airports in Mekele, Shire and Aksum from federal control.

The developments reportedly prompted the suspension of flights to and from the Tigray region.

In a separate statement, the Command Center of the Tigray Army said federal government forces had launched a full-scale offensive overnight across multiple fronts, involving infantry, mechanized units, drones and air force assets. According to the statement, the offensive prompted Tigrayan forces to launch counter-offensive operations in response.

Meanwhile, forces affiliated with the Afar National Unity Revolutionary Front (locally known as #Uguguma) also launched counteroffensive operations aimed at taking full control of Abala, the border town and administrative center in the Kilbet Rasu zone, as well as five other districts in northern Afar namely Dalol, Koneba, Berahle, Erebti and Megale.

According to social media reports, #Uguguma forces seized a number of weapons during the fighting and were subsequently advancing toward the strategically located town of Serdo.

In the Amhara region, Fano fighters launched attacks in North Wello and Wag Hemra zones. Initial reports indicated indicated that a number of regime forces had surrendered to Fano fighters, although those reports could not immediately be independently verified yet.

Other members of the alliance, including groups based in Oromia, Ogaden and Benishangul-Gumuz, are reportedly on standby and could launch operations against government forces in their respective areas.

The simultaneous developments across Tigray, Afar and Amhara, combined with the announced readiness of allied forces in other regions, could represent one of the most significant coordinated escalations against the federal government in recent years.

Dear Ambassador Masinga, I am unsure if any American diplomat has ever been photographed in a celebratory manner with individuals deemed war criminals by the US State Department for committing ethnic cleansing, as described by Secretary Blinken in his March 2021 speech. These individuals and settlers have engaged in ethnic cleansing through extrajudicial killings, forcibly displacing over a million people, and resettling approximately a million settlers by seizing the land and property of Tigrayans in Western Tigray.

Ambassador Masinga, it is well-known that for months, the genocidal Abiy Ahmed Ali has restricted your travel to Tigray. So, how is it that he now permits you to visit Western Tigray? Is this part of his agenda? For your reference, I have attached some international reports on the war crimes and crimes against humanity these individuals committed in Western Tigray.
