Day 1️⃣9️⃣7️⃣4️⃣of the #TigrayGenocide:
Nearly one-third of #Tigray’s territory remains under occupation.More than two million #Tigrayan IDPs are displaced trapped in temporary shelters without the conditions necessary for safe and voluntary return.

There are 2 types of Tegaru who attack anyone criticizing #TPLF (#GujileADM):
🔥 Type 1: The Corrupt Few
They call critics “Banda” or “Beltsegena” to silence them. Why? Because they profit from:
✅ Illegal gold mining
✅ Sexual violence & kidnappings
✅ Land grabs that starve farmers
They’re party cadres, local bosses, shady scholars & media puppets. They’ll do anything to hide their crimes.
🔥 Type 2: The Dependent Majority
They’re not all hardcore TPLF supporters, they’re trapped by decades of handout dependency.
Organized, powerful, but mentally locked: “TPLF or nothing.”
They defend the party blindly, not realizing they hold the real power for change.
👉 When you speak truth, they smear you as the enemy. Then mercenary media: #ZaraMedia, #DedebitMedia, Horizon, amplify the lies while gangs terrorize with fear, violence, and propaganda.
Tigray deserves better than corruption, fear & dependency.

Analysis: The Two Dominant Groups Behind TPLF’s Culture of Silencing Criticism in Tigray
In the current political and social landscape of Tigray, criticism of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), now operating as #GujileADM, is often met with hostility, blackmail, and character assassination. Those who speak out are quickly labeled as traitors or enemies of the people. This pattern of suppression is driven primarily by two distinct groups within Tigrayan society: (1) The Corrupt Beneficiaries and (2) The Dependent Majority.
Type 1: The Corrupt Beneficiaries
This group is relatively small in number but wields significant economic and political influence. They are deeply embedded within criminal networks, and their survival depends on protecting the interests of the ruling elite. Critics of TPLF are frequently branded as “Banda” or “Beltsegena (ብልፅግና)” terms historically used to delegitimize dissent and portray critics as traitors to Tigray.
Their primary motivation is self-preservation and profit, as they are direct or indirect beneficiaries of systemic corruption. Many have close ties to influential political figures, military generals, or business elites. This network is responsible for silencing those who attempt to expose atrocities and crimes such as:
•Illegal gold mining operations, which finance corruption and empower criminal actors.
•Sexual violence and kidnappings, used both as tools of terror and sources of revenue through trafficking networks.
•Human trafficking and smuggling activities, particularly targeting vulnerable populations.
•Forced displacement of farmers, enabling land grabs for “investment projects” funded through illicit wealth.
This group operates with calculated aggression. Their methods include social media campaigns to discredit critics, spreading misinformation, and employing fear-based tactics. The group is composed of:
•Social media propagandists, who drive online smear campaigns.
•Silent scholars and intellectuals, who, despite being aware of systemic abuses, remain complicit due to personal or financial benefits.
•Party cadres and local officials, including village, district, and Zoba leaders, who enforce TPLF directives at the community level.
Though numerically small, this group commands a disproportionate share of illicit wealth, particularly from illegal mining. Their moral disengagement is profound, they show no concern for the humanitarian cost, prioritizing wealth accumulation over the survival of Tigray’s population.
Type 2: The Dependent Majority
The second group represents a larger segment of the Tigrayan population, bound not by ideological commitment but by economic dependency. Over the past several decades—especially during the last 37 years—TPLF has cultivated a system that entrenches reliance on party-controlled handouts. This dependency is not incidental; it is a deliberate mechanism of social control designed to prevent political dissent.
This group’s tragedy lies in its potential: highly organized, capable of rapid mobilization, and deeply embedded within the social fabric of Tigray. However, years of economic subjugation and political indoctrination have created a psychological barrier. Many within this group have internalized the belief that there is no alternative to TPLF. Their loyalty is not driven by ideological alignment but by a survival instinct shaped by decades of enforced scarcity.
The psychological impact of this dependency is profound. For many, TPLF’s dominance is not perceived as a choice but as an immutable reality—a condition “tattooed” onto their collective consciousness. Consequently, any criticism of TPLF is interpreted as a threat to their own survival, leading to knee-jerk defense of the party and hostility toward dissenters.
The Ethiopian 🇪🇹Federal Government bears direct responsibility for the ongoing atrocities in #Tigray, including killings, kidnappings, sexual violence, illegal gold mining, and deaths caused by starvation and famine.
@AbiyAhmedAli’s government has utterly failed #Tigrayans by refusing to uphold the rule of law and ensure basic security. Even after the signing of the #CoHA, the government has not only failed to implement it but has weaponized it deliberately delaying its provisions and using essential services as bargaining chips.
Fuel, banking access, and other basic government services remain blocked, denying #Tigrayans what they rightfully deserve as law-abiding, tax-paying Ethiopians who have significantly contributed to Ethiopia’s economy, even after enduring the horrors of #TigrayGenocide.
This is not charity, it is their right.
The international community must act. Ethiopian leaders must be held accountable for continuing to commit genocide through collective punishment and systemic oppression aimed at erasing the people of #Tigray.
