I'm all for brevity in papers but in my opinion a good methods section should be so long & detailed readers would know what the experimenter had for lunch, what music they listened to while dissecting samples, & how many naps they had during the all night confocal section.
Google research released a paper on a neural net that can forecast rain up to 12 hours ahead, as opposed to using time and compute intensive physics simulations on supercomputers. It can run on a colab notebook!

@JoeBaco2 @ExistWell@hubermanlab they propose rendering a group of patients fully unconscious to prevent the subjective experience part - they've then been administered a substance (anesthesia), while the awake group hasn't. The results are confounded by the possibility of an effect of the anesthesia!
