في كلمته الختامية لاحتفالات أشندا هذا المساء، هنأ رئيس الإدارة المؤقتة لإقليم تيغراي غيتاتشو ردا فتيات و نساء أشندا على احتفالهن بعيدهن السنوي بعد ثلاث سنوات من المعاناة المروعة و الوضع المؤلم، قائلاً إنه "تم تحقيق سلام نسبي حتى الآن".

و قال الرئيس غيتاتشو ردا أن شفاء النساء هو أول أمر عمل لإدارته.  و أشار إلى أنه لا يوجد جدول أعمال يمكن أن يسبق شفاء المرأة.

و شدد الرئيس على التضحية و المرونة التي أظهرتها نساء تيغراي خلال الأيام المظلمة، مذكراً بأن العديد من الأشخاص الآخرين الذين احتفلوا بأشندا منذ سنوات مضت، دفعوا أرواحهم التي لا تقدر بثمن، مما مهد الطريق للآخرين للبقاء على قيد الحياة في هذه المرحلة الصعبة.

و أضاف: "نحن في مرحلة للترفيه عما هو بين أيدينا رغم كل الصعاب"، لكن 'الأهم' أن إدارته تعمل على "عدم تكرار الأخطاء السابقة".

وقال غيتاتشو أن المعاناة التي واجهتها نساء تيغراي خلال الحرب "لا مثيل لها في أي مكان ولا يمكن تفسيرها".  و أبرز قائلآ "لقد واجهت مآسي ما بعد الموت". و تقديرًا لصمودهن، دعا نساء تيغراي إلى تعزيز نضالهن من أجل حقوقهن.

و ذكر الرئيس أن إدارته ستعمل على تحسين وضع نساء تيغراي و استخلاص الدروس مما أسماه "الأخطاء السابقة" التي أدت إلى معاناة لا توصف لملايين سكان تيغراي.

و قال غيتاتشو إن إدارته ستعمل أيضًا على الحفاظ على السلام و العمل من أجل مستقبل أفضل، و إعادة النازحين إلى ديارهم و تحرير أولئك الذين يقبعون في أيدي المحتلين.

‘’No agendum can precede healing of women in Tigrai’’, Getachew Reda

August 24, Mekelle (Tigrai Television) In his closing remarks of Ashenda festivity this evening, President of the interim Administration of Tigrai Getachew Reda congratulated Ashenda girls and women for
celebrating their annual festivity after three years surviving countless horrendous miseries and
painful situation saying that ‘’comparative peace has been achieved so far’’.

President Getachew Reda said Healing of women is first order of business for his administration.
‘’No Agendum can precede women’s healing ''he noted.

The president underscored the sacrifice and resilience the Tigrain women demonstrated during
the dark days recalling that many others who celebrated Ashenda years ago have paid their
priceless lives paving the way for others to survive the challenging juncture.

‘’We are in a stage to entertain what’s in hand against all odds ‘’ but, ‘’most importantly ‘’ he
said, his administration is working ''not to repeat previous mistakes''.

Getachew said the suffering the Tigrain women faced during the war is ‘’anywhere unmatched and inexplicable. '' You have faced beyond-death miseries ‘’ he highlighted.

Appreciating their resilience, he called on the women of Tigrai to strengthen their struggle for their rights.

The president stated his administration will work for the betterment of the women of Tigrai taking lessons from what he called ‘’the previous mistakes’’ that resulted in the unspeakable suffering to the Millions of Tigrains.

Getachew said his administration will also work to preserve the peace and work for a better future, returning IDPs back home and freeing those languishing in the hands of occupants.
