this is insane. i genuinely don't understand why ambitious people aren't shown this lecture before their careers start consuming their entire lives.

clayton christensen spent his career studying why successful companies collapse. in his final class, he asked students to apply the theory to themselves: if you keep allocating your time the same way, what life are you actually building?

he had already seen the answer in his own harvard mba class. everyone looked successful at the fifth reunion; by the 10th, 15th, 20th, and 25th, many were unhappy, divorced, and living far from their children.

work shows you the score immediately. close a sale, ship a product, finish a presentation, earn a promotion, get paid.

an hour with your child may produce nothing you can measure today; it may take 20 years to understand what that hour built. so the next free hour goes back to work, one rational decision at a time.

this is how people build lives they never planned: through hundreds of right decisions that lead in the wrong direction, day after day.

money, titles, and headcount are easy to count. christensen believed a life should be measured by the people who became better because you were there.

he died in 2020.

one question remains: if someone saw only where your time, energy, and attention went this year, what would they think actually mattered to you?

How to find work that feels meaningful:

– Google "VIA Character Strengths Test," take the free 24-question assessment
– Identify your top "signature strengths" (bravery, humor, love of learning, etc.)
– Notice which strengths feel most like *you* when you use them
– Practice "job crafting": find small ways to use those strengths in your current role
– Love of learning? Pick topics you know nothing about and dive in
– Bravery? Take on projects or conversations that feel slightly intimidating

Young men, don’t let anyone tell you that you aren’t a good capitalist because you rightfully complain about how hard it is to buy a home, pay your mounting bills, buy your family groceries, or keep a roof over your head.

It didn’t always used to be this way, the deck really is stacked against you, and turning you into debt cattle, tax slave, and lifelong renter were the goals of very wealthy and powerful people since they first assigned you a number. Because that’s what you are to them.

Your right to complain about it is written in your sweat and blood. And no. You are not experiencing “capitalism.” You are experiencing exploitation they call “capitalism.”

You are competing for a starter home against global capital with access to money you could never borrow at rates you could never get. You are paying taxes into a system that subsidizes corporations large enough to purchase the politicians who write the rules governing those corporations. You are watching losses get socialized while profits remain private, industries consolidate until “competition” means choosing which logo gets to fleece you, and financial institutions turn necessities like housing, medicine, education, and even food into investment vehicles to be squeezed for maximum yield.

That is not a free market. That is a market with a thumb and an entire federal bureaucracy sitting on the scale.

Real Capitalism requires meaningful competition, private property, enforceable contracts, and honest money. When the powerful can purchase exemptions, subsidies, bailouts, regulatory moats, preferential financing, cheap foreign labor, and political influence, while you get a mortgage at seven percent and a lecture about skipping Starbucks, somebody has rigged the %*#* game.

You work. You produce. You build. You fix. You haul. You create things people need. and then you watch an ever-growing procession of governments, banks, monopolies, middlemen, institutional investors, and politically connected parasites reach into your pocket to take it.

There is nothing anti-capitalist about objecting to that. That is a rigged table where the house writes the rules, deals the cards, owns the casino, lends you the money to play, and then calls you “anti-capitalist” and “unpatriotic” when you notice.

Heck, I’ll even complain *with* you. It’ll be fun. But we’ll have to do it while we work because a single day off might cause cascading financial ruin and then they’ll call us lazy.

It's now confirmed that Bethel is "pausing" their sale of the Passion Translation.

Interestingly enough, they seem to be outsourcing review of TPT to "skilled organizations."

Who are these organizations?

Why are they needed when much of the proof we gave is irrefutable and can be double checked by anyone with a web browser?

Do we need a "skilled organization" to tell us that Brian Simmons has lied about his credentials?

Do we need a "skilled organization" to tell us that Victor Alexander's text was bogus and ended up in TPT hundreds of times?

Do we need a "skilled organization" to tell us that footnotes were plagiarized left and right from spurious Aramaic primacists?

Do we need a "skilled organization" to tell us that doctrines were inserted into the text left and right to support Brian Simmons' ideology?

What about the dozens of "skilled" scholars who have already condemned TPT over the years?

The idea that Bethel needs some organization to tell them that the word of God is being polluted and that Brian Simmons is a fraud is extremely telling.

They should look at the evidence themselves and renounce TPT immediately.

Husbands, there’s a lot of power in you leading by taking your family to church, letting them see you consistently reading the Bible, and vocally working through situations with Scripture on your lips.

Even if they don’t respond well in the short term it can change everything.
