@SuryaGanguli@TheHumanoidHub Don’t know for this one, but this article suggests 45% higher. I’m surprised if it’s only that much. https://t.co/d5vmy2EY54
@prof_grimmer Well, Gemini 2.5 Pro got it. Though, in the chat history, I did ask it about the slice problem first (which it got), and then projection.
This is a very inspiring weekend read. At 33, @PThorpe92 has now spent 1/3rd of his life in jail, and a quarter of that in solitary confinement, but today, thanks to some amazing programs in Maine, he works full-time as a software engineer for database company Turso while still in jail, paying 10% of his wages to the state.
When Preston was 20, he went to jail for selling MDMA and Marijuana he bought on the dark web. He went to jail for a few years, got out with $0 and not many options and fell back into crime. By chance, he got transfered to Maine, the only state that lets inmates study for college while in jail.
Preston studied remotely at the University of Maine Augusta and became obsessed with programming and ended up becoming a volunteer contributor to an open source project that led to a full-time job.
Those that take college courses while in jail in Maine have a recidivism rate of 0.5%, compared to ~68% nationwide (3 year recidivism rate).
Highly recommend reading the article, and even better his blog posts linked below.
I am looking for emergency area chairs for ARR (commitment to EMNLP). The task is providing the meta review for a paper submission considering 3 existing reviews. (The topics are RAG or LLM bias). The hard due is tomorrow. Please let me know if you are interested in.
