I am extremely proud to share our latest work on single-NK cell fate mapping published today in @ImmunityCP. When mapping the fate of individual NK cells in viral infection we were flabbergasted to find that there appeared to be two types of responses...🧵

Thrilled to see PSC Executive Council member @DrSusanLK appointed by @NYCMayor to the Commission on Government Efficiency. Dr. Kang’s decades-long impact on helping to lead political reforms in New York and her academic credentials make her an excellent choice for COGE.
Our latest paper is now online @JImmunol! Congratulations to Roy Morgan and the rest of the team! Development and function of specified thymic iNKT1 cells critically depend on an Ets1-Tbet transcription factor axis https://t.co/fYTgL01ZyW
Excited to announce the opening of the Adams Lab in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at the @UofR Medical Center. Job posting for postdoc and/or computational biologist positions coming soon – reach out if you are interested in joining our team!

Excited to share our new paper! Huge thank you to my amazing mentor Andrea @SchietingerLab and our co-authors for the guidance and support along the way! https://t.co/VDmoZnqwgO
Very happy to share the final chapter of my postdoc work with Boris Reizis @nyugrossman@UChicago published today in @ScienceMagazine! We identify and define the role of transcription factor ETV3 in the tolerogenic function of dendritic cells (DCs). 1/

Why are pDCs so good at producing type I interferons? We set out to address this long unanswered question in our recent @ImmunityCP study. Again a great collaboration between the Reizis Lab @nyugrossman@UChicago and @agalitzina@leonidmirny@MIT

NFIL3 resides at the apex - as far as I know, at least - of a transcription factor hierarchy that initiates innate lymphoid specification.
@stylianos_k@Sarah_pdx@overallsthinker@aaronnarraph@saint_morg how do reg. people who are not obsessed with politics know how to distinguish between the 2? They say the same things, both are „democrats“. 1-2-3-4 offered a solution, by establishing a clear „sub-brand“, but was voted down. (Z spoke pro 1-2-3-4 and did these parts actually 😉)
I didn't expect to be so sad learning that my favorite philosopher, Alasdair MacIntyre, has passed 💔. I hope I can explore lessons from his philosophy for STEM research more in the future, I made a first attempt in this book chapter:

I am over the moon to finally share my Ph.D. research with the world!🤩🤩🤩
We used a new Il21r-flox mouse model to decipher the B-cell-intrinsic role of IL-21 signaling.

Excited to share our new paper in @JExpMed 🎉 We show that NK cells use autocrine TGF-β1 signalling to establish tissue residency, form a highly cytotoxic subset, and protect the tissue against viral persistence. https://t.co/EkLtWAPWZo
Excited to share that our story on PGE2-mediated control of NK cell metastasis surveillance in lung tissue is now published in @CellReports
🤝 Thanks to the many great colleagues who helped conduct this study!
👏Congratulations to first author @AMPedde!

There are solutions, like the Fair Representation Act which would establish a multiparty democracy without the need for a constitutional change. People should push for real democracy, not accept the choices they clearly are not satisfied with.
A difficult night. But one of my takeaways from the election is once again: why do Americans put up with this electoral system? A system that gives only a few states all the power to elect the president and that restricts everyone’s choice to only two parties.
And here are the links to the two new papers in Nature Immunology.

My recent study, just published at Nature Immunology, about the relationship between functional and developmental heterogeneity of NK cells. Great thanks, everyone in Bhandoola Lab! @Bhandoola_Lab . Great thanks, my collaborators! @SimonGrassmann@SunLab_Official@BelkaidLab
Bhandoola and colleagues describe the existence of two developmental pathways that give rise to functionally distinct NK cell subsets. Read it here: https://t.co/seVYU7nx0t
