@jpowel91 It frustrates me because they're more than capable of doing things on their own accord. Just because you see someone who's older, doesn't mean they are in need of assistance all the time
Funny Story:
My little brother was on Discord with one of his friends and his friend heard me talked. He asked my brother how old I am and he answered 23. His friend proceeded to say "DAMN SHE'S OLD".... they're 12.. ๐

Wording is important, especially when you're referring to someone. It may be something small and lighthearted but saying "you old people" is a little harsh. #AdvocacyInAging24
@Newageadvocate It was interesting seeing different generations' perspectives during everyone's interviews - I didn't expect a lot of what they talked about
Ageism in the workplace is a problem in this country. Being perceived as over-qualified, not technically able or too close to retirement can be very damaging to older members of the workforce.

@HollyR73240@activeagingdoc Its hard in my opinion due to staffs mistreating patients regardless of the trainings still. I did my service learning at a nursing home and the social worker there giving me information also told me that if I see any patients being mistreated (family/staff) to tell them
Reminds me of what we thought we know but I'm glad we got into it more on how there are several types of dementia such as Alzheimerโs #AdvocacyInAging24

@annasanadvocate Unpopular opinion: I think gray hairs look cool.
My cousin have had gray hair since he was 8 years old due to stress so I think gray hair's normal overall!
As we get older, we tend to not care and move on anyway!
@agepositively92 I've lost two people recently and I'm anxious of losing more and more people as time goes on. Its such a sick thing but its life I guess #AdvocacyInAging24
While looking through @NatureAging & their broad aging research community (also mentioned an article about the use of EHRs to predict Alzheimer's - pretty neat stuff here), I came across another cool page: @americanaging ! Can't wait to look into these more! #AdvocacyInAging24
Online now! A new study uses proteomics data from over 50 000 adults without dementia in the UK biobank to predict the future risk of dementia, and highlights the importance of GFAP (https://t.co/5h76IhDHRc)

@_aging_tg I agree with that. Especially when there's more to it than "getting old" such as hunching over so much or overworking your body. Same thing with grey hair, it's not because you're "aging" but because you're stressed. My cousin had grey hair since he was 8 years old.
