I remember April 1994 as if it were yesterday.

This short testimony goes to the youth, but especially to those who dare to speak of a “double genocide.”

I was not hunted.
But I remember how Tutsis were hunted.

I remember conversations with my Tutsi peers.
Fear in their eyes.
Total despair.
Wondering where to hide.

I remember Tutsi neighbours trying to return to their places of origin, hoping to find safety, and never making it.
Some were killed on the way.
Others were killed when they arrived, in places they believed would protect them.

I remember churches becoming places of animosity.
Places of slaughter.

And I remember not understanding how people could suddenly become so cruel.

There was a roadblock near our home.

People were stopped and asked to present their IDs.
If your ID said Tutsi, you were to die.
If you had children, they were to die, no matter their age.
If you were pregnant, the unborn child was to die first.

The unspeakable had become normal.

There was a nearby forest.
Killers had given it a name, CND.

And we would hear them say they had taken people to CND.

That is how death was spoken about.
Casually. As if it meant nothing.

No one questioned it.
Those who could ask were the same ones killing or giving the orders.

At no point during the Genocide against the Tutsi did I hear of Hutus being hunted for being Hutu.
Tutsis were hunted. Systematically. Ruthlessly.

Yes, some Hutus were killed because they were mistaken for Tutsi.
Yes, some Hutus were killed because they refused to kill, or because they chose to hide and protect Tutsis.
Yes, many Hutus died on the way to exile, mostly from cholera.

But they were never hunted to death for being Hutu.

Let us not distort history.
Let us not equalise what was never equal.

To the youth, Rwanda was once dead.
What you see today did not exist.

And yet, we rose.
We rebuilt.
We chose unity over division.

Today, Rwanda stands strong, among the fast-developing nations, guided by visionary leadership under H.E. Paul Kagame.

Under Inkotanyi, who stopped the genocide when the international community failed to act.

Our dignity was restored.
Today, amahanga aratwubaha.

This is not something we can ever take for granted.

We must stand together to protect our country and our leadership.
We must stand together to fight any harm against Rwanda.

We must stand together against any form of genocide ideology.

We must stand together against denial, so that “Never Again” becomes a reality.
Today and forever.

As our President said, Rwanda cannot die twice.

Dans cette lettre signée le 19 Juin 2012 par @julienpalukucom en tant que Gouverneur du Nord-Kivu, il demandait à la @MONUSCO d’assurer le transport aller-retour vers Walikale de certaines personnes. Or, les numéros 6 et 7 de la liste ne sont pas des facilitateurs belges pour la question des FDLR : Ce sont des officiels des FDLR.

N°6 : Joseph Nzabonimpa, un officier des ex-FAR avec le grade de lieutenant. Il s’est rendu en Belgique en 1991 pour suivre des études dans une école militaire.
Bien qu’il n’ait pas participé directement au génocide car il ne se trouvait pas au Rwanda à ce moment-là il était utilisé dans la diplomatie des FDLR, car il n’a pas de sang sur les mains. Cependant, il partage la même idéologie que les génocidaires.

N°7 : Faustin Murego, ancien coordinateur des FDLR à Liège, en Belgique, et ancien conseiller d’Ignace Murwanashyaka, président des FDLR.

@julienpalukucom avait tenté de convaincre la mission de l’ONU qu’elle allait transporter de prétendus "facilitateurs belges". Heureusement, cette demande a été rejetée par la @MONUSCO.

The real "blackmail" is the media implying African peacekeepers must work for free or face character assassination, while Western peacekeepers can make over 25 billion without producing results.

The racist framing dehumanizes both African civilians, the 250,000+ who returned home at an 87% rate, and the very Rwandan troops whose lives are lost protecting fellow Africans they helped save, turning a success story into a donor-drama subplot.

A simple comparison: In Cabo Delgado, over 6,300 Rwandan troops have interrupted ISIS-Insurgents, liberated strategic districts, reopened ports and roads, BUILT SCHOOLS and allowed safe civilian returns.

In the DRC, the UN’s MONUSCO has consumed more than $25 billion over 25 years while armed groups proliferated from dozens to over 250 with no tangible peace.

Rwandan troops have a long legacy of liberating Africans from violence and discrimination.

Western peacekeepers have been involved in literal gold smuggling scandals.

Maybe blackmail only applies to black peacekeepers?

Demanding appreciation and shared costs after years of investment and sacrifice is not leverage: it's basic equity.

Il faut signaler que Tshisekedi vient de mettre en jeu plusieurs millions de dollars dans une campagne de lobbying et de corruption pour faire élire Madame Juliana Lumumba à la tête de l'OIF, sans compter d'autres millions de dollars qu'il verse au Burundi, aux mercenaires ainsi qu'à certains eurodéputés.

NARRATIF MANIPULATEUR

Mes chers compatriotes, récemment, il y a une semaine, il y a eu un éboulement à KAKANDA dans le #KATANGA. Plusieurs dizaines de jeunes sont morts, mais le gouvernement congolais n'a fait aucun communiqué ou message de condoléances. Cependant, @PatrickMuyaya reste accroché à l'incident de #RUBAYA, car c'est une zone contrôlée par l'AFC/M23 et, de ce fait, il est facile d'indexer le Rwanda avec leur faux narratif TSHISEKEDISTE d'un prétendu pillage des ressources du Congo par le Rwanda.

Nous sommes face à des irresponsables qui ont du mal à gouverner le pays : insécurité partout, difficulté à payer le salaire des fonctionnaires, insalubrité, inflation, etc. Et tout ce qu'ils ont trouvé comme stratégie face à un peuple moins exigeant, c'est de l'arroser de mensonges au quotidien et de le manipuler. Pour TSHISEKEDI, @PatrickMuyaya et consorts, c'est le Rwanda qui contrôle et pille les minerais de la RDC. Cela sous-entend que c'est le Rwanda qui a attribué les carrés miniers à la famille TSHISEKEDI et à d'autres qui pillent impunément les minerais au Katanga . C'est encore le Rwanda qui a envoyé Tshisekedi offrir le sous-sol de la RDC, car c'est elle qui a la mainmise sur le sous-sol de notre pays. Ce régime profite de notre complaisance pour nous manipuler, et ils savent que, pour endormir la population et nous dédouaner de notre responsabilité à bien gouverner le pays, la grande excuse reste de tout mettre sur le dos du Rwanda. Oui, ils arrivent à manipuler les esprits faibles et fanatiques, mais non l'ensemble du peuple congolais qui a enfin compris à quel genre de dirigeants ils ont affaire. Le Rwanda restera à jamais notre voisin, et il est de notre responsabilité d'être exigeants envers ceux qui nous gouvernent, mais aussi d'arracher notre liberté. Un proverbe français dit : « Chaque peuple mérite ses dirigeants. » Nous devons stopper et dire non à ce narratif mensonger et mettre hors d'état de nuire la médiocrité à la tête de notre pays.
