@IrrefutableV @Jaffro14 @SpaceX A vehicle that has not yet attempted to reach orbit so complaining it hasn't done it yet is kind of stupid. The FAA hasn't given a licence that permits it to go into orbit, so if it did, it would be breaking its licence.

@MichaelDOShea @fermatslibrary The agc had a 2.048MHz clock crystal, which was divided by 2 to give a 1.024MHz 4 phase internal clock.
It was a true stored program computer, although pretty specialised for its intended use. E.g., core rope memory for prog storage (a form of ROM) and interfaces to spacecraft

@konstructivizm I don't know where that picture came from, but if the apparatus is spraying laser reflections all over the place it is VERY inefficient and no laser scientist would stand anywhere near it, specially wearing clear glasses.

@clr5663k @forallcurious I would have a quick look at the periodic table and then investigate the reasons that it contains ALL possible elements. Note that all elements with atomic number greater than 92 are unstable (radioactive) and quickly spontaneously decay into elements of lower atomic number.

In every case, the pilot opted to use the semi-automatic landing program which used the computer to get the lem into the correct area and then landing was performed by pilot

@jeremy757jones @Erdayastronaut @elonmusk Well the starship upper stage has about 1200 tonnes of fuel, but it doesn't start burning any of that until hot staging, which occurs around 70km. Since the rocket is also traveling horizontally as well as vertically, it's much more than 70km from the pad at that point -long hose
