The Kuki tribals in Manipur :
This community made a tremendous contribution to India’s Freedom Struggle by playing a major role in helping the Indian National Army (INA) led by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
As far as the anti-colonial movement is concerned, even during WW-I, the Kukis fought the mighty British for about 3 years, popularly known as the Kuki Uprising (1917-1919) or Anglo-Kuki War (1917-1919)
