@alexmassie I’ve heard murmurings of a plan to build a parkway station around there. On the other hand, there are better places in either Wokingham or W&M council to build houses. Also, Waltham St Lawrence is full of rich NIMBYs.
@willowsqueak Prepare for the misery of first/stagecoach buses. Enjoy the permanently under construction city centre. They’re still digging up Fargate. Don’t go to Meadowhell. Outer areas & down ecclesall rd is awesome, endcliffe park & the botanical gardens are awesome. The peaks however >>>>
@alexfmac Less congested roads are almost always created by putting more obstacles in the way of drivers in order to make alternative modes more appealing.
@alexfmac London is the most car free part of the UK. some central areas are over 80% car-free, and those are the areas that see the most investment, especially the City of London.
@alexfmac Studies have shown that making driving more difficult pushes people onto transit, lowering pollution overall — CC, ULEZ, etc. Fewer cars means buses don’t get stuck as often. Bus lanes often make this moot to begin with.
@alexfmac Then you should want a war on drivers. If fewer drivers are on the road, you, who is one of very few who need to be there, won’t get stuck in as much traffic and will be able to go where you need to faster.
