Happy to share that I’ve been accepted into the @JCO_ASCO Reviewer Trainee Program 🎉
We had our first meeting today.
Peer review is the backbone of scientific publishing. I hope to contribute to this essential process. Many thanks to @ASCO for this opportunity!

Two grantees on the same plenary stage, in two different cancers, on the same day. This is not luck. It is what happens when you identify exceptional scientists early, across every cancer type, and invest in them consistently. Read the announcement: https://t.co/PudsRLcx9i

Before a plenary changes practice, someone first believes in the scientist.
Early cancer research funding is not a grant.
It is a lifeline for future patients.

🎉Our very own @BbaharK presenting our study at #ASCO26! I am extremely happy for being the senior author for the first time!
In this real-world chrono-immunotherapy analysis, we used cluster analysis of ICI infusion timing up to 24 cycles for each patient and found that midday administration was associated with the longest overall survival in patients with metastatic cancer.
👉‼️Our translational study are on the way to better understand the biology behind these findings

Daraxonrasib (multi-selective RAS inhibitor) addresses one of the biggest challenges in oncology and beats chemotherapy in 2nd line advanced pancreas cancer, creating a pivotal moment. #ASCO26@Annals_Oncology@OncoAlert@DrChoueiri
📮My letter on neoadjuvant GOLP study in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma has been published in NEJM
🟦BILCAP cape arm: mRFS 24.3 mo
🟦ZSAB-neoGOLP control arm (surgery-cape): mEFS 8.7 mo
❓Is it unexpectedly short?
✅Thanks authors for the response and NEJM for giving this discussion opportunity.

⭐ Quality of life in mHSPC — how should it shape treatment decisions?
@OncoAlert@APCCC_Lugano#APCCC26@Silke_Gillessen@AOmlin
Presented by @DrYukselUrun
🔹 Powerful and deeply human talk bringing patients back to the center of decision-making
🔹 Key insights:
• Treatments are improving → patients live longer
➡️ but those years must be lived well
• QoL is multidimensional:
→ physical
→ cognitive
→ emotional
→ social
• The “toxicity paradox”:
→ intensification may prolong survival
→ but cumulative toxicity can erode quality of life
• Frailty, comorbidities and social context are critical determinants
• PROs are essential → QoL should be measured, not assumed
🔹 What patients value most:
→ independence
→ energy
→ cognitive function
→ sexual health
🔹 Take-home:
Survival and QoL are not competing goals —
they must be integrated in every treatment decision
👏 Outstanding perspective — clinically and humanly essential

In cisplatin-ineligible patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer, enfortumab vedotin–pembrolizumab plus surgery led to better event-free survival (74.7%, vs. 39.4%) and overall survival (79.7%, vs. 63.1%) than surgery alone at 2 years. “To love someone else is easy, but to love what you are, the thing that is yourself, is just as if you were embracing a glowing red-hot iron: it burns into you and that is very painful. Therefore, to love somebody else in the first place is always an escape which we all hope for, and we all enjoy it when we are capable of it. But in the long run, it comes back on us. You cannot stay away from yourself forever, you have to return, have to come to that experiment, to know whether you really can love. That is the question-whether you can love yourself, and that will be the test”—Carl Jung (1875-1961)
