Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.
After a journey of more than 690,000 miles, the crew is nearly home.
The Artemis II crew will splash down off the coast of San Diego later today and, though it won’t be visible from land, you can still wave in their general direction to welcome them back to Earth! 👋
@Buddsoddi@ria_747@2147mill So frustrating, this exact same thing happened before in 2020/2021 with a European ETN. It'll push UK investors to riskier options like MSTR, again.

This is the moment Ratcliffe power station came off the electricity system for the final time, marking the end of 142 years of coal generating electricity in Great Britain!
After eleven years, it's time to update my London Underground concentric-circles-and-spokes map. Completely redrawn from centre to edges, it's so much better than before, and more geographically accurate than the official map.
As renewables pushed down fossil fuels, power sector emissions fell, too.
Emissions dropped by 17% in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period last year. They are now nearly a THIRD lower than in H1-2022 - a fall larger than the 2018-2020 drop due to COVID-19.

We're celebrating a huge moment today. Kirk Hill Wind Farm has officially generated power for the first time ⚡️As the UK's largest people-owned wind farm in operation, 5,600 owners made this happen. With each member owning an average of a credit card sized slice of this incredible wind farm, they are actively changing the landscape of green energy in the UK. That's real climate action to be proud of 👏

@karimcy @Protons4B @EcoNorfolk @RippleEnergy It was a tricky decision, but the main reason I voted in favour of CfD was the reasonable chances of the GB power market splitting into zones in the 2030s (REMA). This would drop power prices even further for Kirk Hill investors, a huge regulatory risk. Shame about the outcome
