@jmkettle In Finland if everything goes as planned and food is like you expected, you give 5 stars. So 5 stars = nothing to complain. In Japan if everything goes as expected and you are happy you give 3 stars. 4-5 stars needs to be something beyond expectations.
First result from the Exoasteroids citizen science project. Amateurs and professional astronomers discover a new cataclysmic variable: a white dwarf accreting matter from a lower-mass companion. https://t.co/rQCSa2wrgf
Two brown dwarfs are whipping around each other in a tight tango — an unexpected dance for objects that are not-quite-stars and not-quite-planets.

Happy Pi day! The twin Gemini telescope mirrors have diameters of 8.1 meters. Using A = π x radius^2 and subtracting the central hole, you can calculate a surface area of about 50.4 square meters. #PiDay

I post a lot about the beauty of space, but its important to remember that we already live on the most beautiful planet, filled with incredible wonders, unique creatures, and a species sentient enough to appreciate it all.
Earth is a magical place, and we're lucky to have it.
The Near-Earth Object (NEO) Surveyor mission — our future eye on the skies for finding potentially hazardous asteroids — is coming together! The sunshade seen here will protect NEO Surveyor's telescope and sensitive infrared detectors.

"Fortunately, the Halloween storm did not cause any major collisions that we know of. But if a geomagnetic storm on the level of the 2003 event were to occur today, the situation could be very different.... " https://t.co/ZUZWIBRpu5
The expected solar storm has arrived and it is big! G4 levels imminent. The storm is so fast it has crushed the dayside of Earth's magnetic system so that geosynchronous orbit now sits outside the pristine magnetosphere in the shocked solar wind. Alert: EMP issues at low latitudes may cause power grid fluctuations over the next few hours. Radiation storm effects peak now!
G4 (Severe) storm conditions first reached at 1938 UTC (2:38pm EST) upon CME shock arrival. Please continue to visit https://t.co/TV7Yw6Lq1Y for the latest information and updates.
Wow, we are nearing S4 / SEVERE radiation storm levels before predicted impact of the CME. This is getting intense! It has been over 22 years since we have reached these levels of proton flux enhancement. Quite impressive.
@chrisschmitz Using NATO airspace instead of SWI/AUT makes sense because of NATO military logistics framework and cargo OPSEC. They don't have to ask clearance request with cargo disclosure from non-Nato country.
