@RyanHaecker Assuming the conclusion in the premise rather smacks of desperation. I could posit many other explanations, e.g. an orderly universe could just be a selection effect.
@Molson_Hart I would argue China is more dependent on Australia than the reverse. Substitutability is what matters. Australians could pivot to buying Japanese cars next week if necessary. China imports 70% of its iron ore from Australia - much more critical and hard to replace.
@PolemicTMM Clearly true but judicious blocking, muting culture war-related words, adjusting feed settings and following good people can dramatically improve your experience
@gbrl_dick I'm 50, have a 2 year old, a 1 year old, working on #3 and then hopefully #4. As someone who never planned on marriage or children, I couldn't be happier.
...and since I'm out for a walk you get a picture!
@MattKaramazov@elocinationn Colin was a family friend when I was growing up. He had fascinating views on every obscure topic imaginable. One of a kind.
@drethelin True but if we are looking at second order effects we should probably also consider that every child in America has to go through traumatic active shooter drills multiple times a year
@drethelin You could buy short-dated options (e.g. very out-of-the-money puts one day before expiry), which would give you plenty of leverage with a small bankroll in the stock market. Anonymity is an issue for sure though.
