Excited to share our @nature paper on #FunSearch (Search in Functional space)! tl;dr: we find new results in maths by evolving code with a pretrained (no finetuning involved) medium-size LLM acting as crossover/mutation operator https://t.co/tHQybj8ikO

Five stages of overcoming the manuscript rejection:
🫤 Denial
“Don’t they know who I am? Don’t they realize the impact I have had on the field?
😠 Anger
“I am going to fight this. The reviewers do not know what they are talking about.”
+ “I will never submit another paper to this journal again.”
🤑 Bargaining
“I am going to offer the editor something so they will overturn their decision—that is, agree to write a review, referee more papers, and so on.”
🥺 Depression
“The paper will make or break my career. Since it was rejected, clearly all my ideas are wrong.”
😼 Acceptance
“I’m sure they had good reasons for rejecting my paper.”

Just to highlight it again:
- Rejection of your paper or grant has NO relevance to the opinion of research community. It is nothing but the opinion of 1-3 people.
- Forget about objectivity. Academia is a very subjective world. Most decisions are made by individuals.
- High-impact factor journals are simply billboards. A great study will be found, cited and recognized regardless of where it’s published.
Don’t let rejections disappoint you.
It’s not worth it.
