@nntaleb There are several possible reasons. Prostate cancer unfortunately doesn’t really have very specific symptoms and early prostate cancer is often devoid of symptoms. Frequent nighttime urination is caused by BPH in the vast majority of cases, a syndrome that is unrelated to cancer.

Nixon changed the practice when he was president, allowing universities to file the patents no matter where the funding came from. This launched the biotech and computer economy.
