Today is World Refugee Day - and right now, protests are actively unfolding across Tigray for the third day in a row.
Tens of thousands are in the streets demanding the right to return home - representing more than one million Tigrayans who were ethnically cleansed from Western Tigray and Irob and remain displaced.
#WorldRefugeeDay #TigrayGenocide
Displaced by a genocidal war and stateless in their own country, scores of thousands of #Tigrayan IDPs are protesting not for asylum, but for a dignified return home.
Their demands merit an international response. This #WorldRefugeeDay compels us to amplify their urgent appeals.
@SwissAmbUN_GVA Hopelessness in plain view of a silent world persisted for 5yrs. 🇪🇹 systematicaly delayed safe return of IDP Tegaru, withdrawal of foreign forces, full implementation of CoHA. IDP's 5day protest demand 4human rights 2live in Peace & divinity in their homes & land.
#Tigray: Day two of the protest organized by Tsilal civic society of Western Tigray demanding the withdrawal of foreign forces from Tigray, returning of IDPs and refugees and the full implementation of the Pretoria agreement.
This is not just a protest — it’s a cry for humanity.
A mother’s tear. A child’s plea. A nation displaced.
Tigrayan IDPs are demanding what was promised: a safe return home.
The world must act — not watch.

Three women in camp—bearing loss, hoping for safety.
They escaped bombs, guns, violence.
Now they wait—hunger, fear, forgetting.
The world looks away. @FemnetProg@WairimuANderitu@DCP_Haddadi
