I am so excited to share that I am starting this Fall as an Investigator at @LDI_ILD and Assistant Professor at McGill @McgillGBDO! I’ll be recruiting students and a research asssistant- Get in touch if you’re interested in chromatin and gene regulation!

Science friends heading to the Other Place 🌌—let’s not lose each other in the void.
Over the next few weeks, I'll try to put together some science "starter packs" of who to follow. Fill out this form to be included. https://t.co/gNIF2oGF4E

A tweetorial for our work: we revealed an actionable therapeutic vulnerability of ecDNA by targeting hyperreliance on the replication stress (RS) regulation machinery in ecDNA-bearing tumour cells, which arises from pervasive transcription on ecDNA. 1/14

Increases to NSERC Discovery Grants: Budget 2024 funds will be ramped up over the next 5 years, with $20.4 million this 1st year & increasing to $227 million per year in year 5 & ongoing. These increases will enable researchers to better support students & postdoctoral fellows.
NCI is taking applications for antibody pdtn, with deposition in the DSHB! This is a fantastic resource, and every protein added gives us an affordable/reproducible reagent. It'd be amazing if many chromatin folks submitted their proteins (hint hint): https://t.co/k4dORsLaCV
In the midst of stressful times, let's come together to listen to 3 amazing talks by 3 brilliant ECR scientists. Alex, Wilson and Xiukun will present their research tomorrow at 9am PDT/ 5pm GMT/ 6pm CET!

Exploring gene duplications! Our study reveals how duplicated genes diverge in function using structural and expression analysis across 36 species. Check out our paper: https://t.co/RxbKnnKFsx
Thanks to @the_alexwv, @Gloveface, Paul Thomas, @cdessimoz#Genomics#Evolution
also if your departments are looking to hire a delightful junior prof whose research vision is to understand the functional consequences of alternative splicing...... I might know a gal 😎
How are promoter interactions coordinated during cell differentiation? In our first paper, we investigate the temporal relationship between genome folding, transcription and histone modifications during ESC differentiation. (1)
Are any of my condensate / phase separation / RNA biology colleagues aware of any upcoming special editions at journals focused on biomolecular condensates?
🚨New Review🚨 We've recently seen huge advances in our understanding of de novo DNA methyltransferase function. @WillowRolls and @mdrwilson and I have written a mini-review on what human disease mutations told us:

Excited to see this study go online! Thank you @NBrockdorff,Tatyana & friends @BrockdorffLab
Here we set out to dissect the contributions of individual domains of DNMT3B in imparting it the specificity for its target loci.

Finally, out in @ScienceMagazine today, our work on de novo protein design. Together with @HattoriLab , @sokrypton & @hendrik_dietz we showed how we can drastically improve AF2 based hallucination, surpassing, or reaching SOTA diffusion models

The research project that got the lab off the ground has been published in @NatureSMB 🥹. I couldn't do a better job of summarizing than co-lead author @jrichardalbert , so he'll take it from here! (and makes unexpected connections with our other recent study)
Happy to share two post-doc papers co-authored with the amazing @AnaMonteagudo4 and @teresa_urli. We had amazing collaborators for both projects, even our supervisor @maxvcg joined in on the experimenting!

So you want to engineer your hiPSCs, but targeting DNA payloads requires multiple slow, inefficient steps for each construct. What if we could accomplish multi-site integration seamlessly?
