I cranked up the contrast in this image to look for something very specific.
Look to the right of the sun. You can see the shockwaves from the rocket refract the sunlight!
Fury.
My highest-resolution image yet taken of Super Heavy's 33 Raptor 3 engines singing in unison during today's flight test of Booster 20 and Ship 40 from Pad 2 in Starbase, Texas.

Starship soared on the second flight of the next generation, deploying advanced Starlink satellites for the first time and providing priceless data as it travelled through air, space, and sea → https://t.co/Rp7VwBzpWx
@Crow__07@Tesla_LatAm They can export tax-free from Mexico to Brazil, but it would still be a premium price tag when compared to BYD and GWM. Tesla lost the Brazilian market to China.
My favorite photo from yesterday: A powerful sight as the latest iteration of Starship climbs through Texan skies. Captured via a sound-triggered camera, this camera captured the chaotic scene far better than I could from a safe distance.

I took 1.7 million photos over 6 days to catch this photo of a commercial jet in front of the sun.
The moment it happened, TWO floating prominences were visible, making this not just my best aircraft transit photo, but one of the luckiest of my career! Videos of the transit 👇
We see you, @NASAEarth
Here's a view of the extraordinary Blue Planet and its moon, taken by the HiRISE instrument aboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Happy Earth Day!
Earthshine.
Artemis II astronaut Christina Koch captured this video of Earth outside the windows of the Orion spacecraft during the second flight day of the mission. Orion was roughly 33,800 miles (54,500 km) away from Earth when @Astro_Christina took this video.
Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.
A new Golden Age of exploration is here and we’re building the team to lead it.
NASA Force applications open today at 1pm ET.
Join NASA through a 1–2 year appointment and work on the missions pushing America higher, farther, and faster than ever before.
#Paz
Home, again! Mission complete. I hope we glorified God, humanity, our families and our terrific teams a @NASA and @csa_asc. Time to share the good news!
