@ct55612 @Catlin_Tucker Great suggestion! I think this would help to create some consistent norms for both learning spaces and help keep them accountable. #wuedt6020
@MayBlan27 The ipad is a great idea! I use two separate computers (one for me and one for the class) but have tried to have the in person students get on the zoom and it always creates an inception like situation with mic feedback. #wuedt6020
@MichJenks That is the most efficient way to tackle this that I have been using as well. I try to make activities that can be completed at home or in person. While that maybe less exciting for the students in the classroom, it keeps everyone accountable for the same content. #wuedt6020
@ABC20219 I have an oculus rift in my classroom. We use Google blocks and upload 3d models that the students have created and exported using @adskFusion360 (mac/pc) or @Onshape (chromebook) to allow students to view their designs in a 3d environment #wuedt6020
@AshleyDills1 This is where I think most are struggling including myself. I try to keep the engaged with each other through smaller breakout rooms in ZOOM as well as posting updates/questions/successes to padlet during independent and group work sessions. #wuedt6020
@MathWithMsJones I used quizzes within Canvas, graded assignments (activities and discussions), breakout meetings in ZOOM, and posts made to a padlet page. I try to use at least one things to assess their active participation during each virtual class. #wuedt6020
@ms_maxwell181@McCoolWILMu Help and collaboration can advance use of educational tech much faster! I spend so much time working with our tech support and other teachers using the same tech. Seeing how other teachers are implementing things is really helpful to get new ideas/make improvements #wuedt6020
@PoliteTommie@McCoolWILMu Great advice! I think I failed the second, third, and fourth time too. Patience and perseverance is key to mastering implementation of some tech apps and resources but you will continue to become more and more comfortable!

@McCoolWILMu My advice for a teacher using educational technology would be to be flexible. Getting hang of different apps and technology will take time and not alway go as planned but don’t give up and roll with the ups and downs while being transparent with students. #wuedt6020
@PoliteTommie@McCoolWILMu Kami has been a great tool for me working digitally. It allows you and the students to annotate digital documents with drawings, writing, text boxes, and more. #wuedt6020
@hyperteacher93@McCoolWILMu Participation is a tough one. Even trying to have a discussion is difficult because wait time feels like a eternity on zoom. Students always seem hesitant because everyone is waiting for someone to talk but normal cues aren’t apparent digitally #wuedt6020
@PoliteTommie The document camera has been a extremely valuable tool for me as well during our time with virtual learning. I have been able to use a tool called kami to annotate during lessons as well. #wuedt6020
@McCoolWILMu The biggest challenge that I faced so far is keeping the student engaged with each other during virtual classes. A lot of the time it really feels like everyone is doing there owe thing but I try to use breakout rooms a lot even during individual work time #wuedt6020
@mrs_mulford@piktochart Finding a way to integrate social media into the educational setting can really provide a positive influence on the students digital citizenship.
