A chilling pattern emerges in Bangladesh, over 750 bodies in 18 months, nearly 43 every month, surfacing in the silent river of Gayera.
Police struggle to identify the decomposed corpses, many drifting across districts, erasing evidence and justice alike.
Experts warn the rising tide of the untraceable dead reveals a deeper collapse of law, accountability, and governance, where death goes nameless and impunity rules.
When justice sinks and the nameless dead outnumber the answers, what does that say about the living?

The United Nations has decided to reduce its peacekeeping budget by 15 percent due to ongoing financial constraints. As part of this budget cut plan, 1,313 Bangladeshi peacekeepers from five UN peacekeeping missions will be repatriated.
This decision affects Bangladeshi personnel from the Army, Navy, and Air Force. . This decision represents a significant psychological and financial blow for the Bangladeshi military personnel involved in these missions.
The Bangladesh Army played a pivotal role, with the backing of the United Nations and the United States , in the overthrow of the Awami League government during the months of July and August. It was previously unimaginable that their patrons would reward them so swiftly for their actions.

OUTRAGEOUS! Jagannath University has banned Kali Puja & Diwali, erasing centuries-old Hindu cultural heritage in a space historically built on Hindu endowments. This isn't policy; it's systemic oppression against minorities in Bangladesh.
âWe demand:
âĄī¸âReverse the ban IMMEDIATELY.
âĄī¸âUphold religious freedom & minority rights.â

Sheikh Hasina: Autocrat or Architect? Global honors like the Indira Gandhi Peace Prize clash with Western media's "strongman" narrative. This analysis argues her "unshakable leadership" was necessary to achieve stability, triple per capita income, and defeat extremism in a fractured Bangladesh. Is transformative change possible without strength?
The woman who carried Bangladesh through chaos, now tried by the court of Western opinion. Let's have an eye on her portfolio:-
Transformational Domestic Legacy: Sheikh Hasina's rule is credited with achieving unprecedented stability, tripling the per capita income, plummeting poverty rates, and cementing civilian control over the military. She is highlighted for her resolute stance against extremism (even during the rise of ISIS), championing women's empowerment, and defying international skepticism to build mega-projects like the Padma Bridge.
Visionary Foreign Policy: Guided by the doctrine "Friendship to all, malice toward none," She is portrayed as a shrewd stateswoman who successfully balanced relationships with regional giants (India, China) and global powers (US, Russia). Her moral courage during the Rohingya crisis and her leadership in climate diplomacy are cited as elevating Bangladesh's global standing, culminating in the G20 invitation.
Critique of Western Media: The Western media of "sensationalism over substance" by focusing on unverified claims (like the "rajakaar" rumor during the July 2024 student protests or unauthenticated "leaked audio") while largely ignoring positive developments and the subsequent judicial inquiry.
Concerns over Current Judicial Process: The piece raises serious red flags about the current interim administration's actions, citing a blatant conflict of interest in Hasina's defense attorney appointment and the controversial departure of the Chief Justice. It points out the double standard in international media's muted response to reports of deaths in custody and extrajudicial killings under the new government, contrasting it with the intense scrutiny Hasina faced.
The Final Verdict: The article concludes that judging Sheikh Hasina solely through a "Western expectations" lens is unfair. Her actions should be understood within the complex historical and political realities of the Global South, where transformative change often requires conviction and decisive action, not just polite diplomacy. She is presented as the "steel spine of a rising nation," not a "strongman" like Gaddafi or Saddam.

One year ago, after the dark hours of August 5, a name rose from the shadows; CrackPlatoon Bangladesh.
When fear tried to silence a nation, We held the line to protect our sovereignty and spirit. Online or offline, We became the nightmare of Razakars.
Today, we are not just a name we arw a movement, a symbol of defiance, and the heartbeat of resistance. #CrackplatoonBangladesh #Bangladesh #CPB1Year âđ§đŠ
SHOCKING VERDICT: The killers from Jamaat-Shibir walk free in the RU BSL activist Faruk Hossain murder case. This mass acquittal is a result of the Interim's Kangaroo Court system, where truth is ignored and justice is a casualty.
The price of a BSL activist is ZERO convictions. Jamaat-Shibir murderers responsible for Faruk Hossain's death have been whitewashed by a sham justice system . They get away, but the pain and injustice will be remembered.

Yunusâs Goons Unleash Terror at DRU
At the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), during a roundtable discussion titled âOur Great Liberation War and the Constitution of Bangladeshâ, Yunusâs armed goons carried out a shameless act of terror. By surrounding and attacking former minister and freedom fighter Abdul Latif Siddiqui and Dhaka University professor Sheikh Hafizur Rahman (Curzon), they proved once again that this force has nothing to do with democracy. Their only objective is chaos, intimidation, and the return of anti-democratic elements to power.
The event, organized by Manch â71, was supposed to host Dr. Kamal Hossainâone of the framers of Bangladeshâs Constitutionâas the chief guest. But before the event could proceed, Yunusâs thugs struck.
When Professor Hafizur Rahman warned that, âThere is a conspiracy to throw away the Constitutionâled by Jamaat-Shibir and the NCPâ, Yunusâs goons stormed the auditorium with a procession, tore down the banner, and physically trapped participants. Their goal was crystal clear: silence the voices of the pro-Liberation (secular) camp.
Calling themselves âJuly Warriors,â these men are in reality BNP-Jamaat cadres, operating under Yunusâs protection. Their rhetoric exposes their true intent: targeting Awami League, Jubo League, and Chhatra Leagueâattacking the core of the Liberation Warâs legacy.
Even more disgraceful was the role of Yunusâs police. Around 12:15 pm, a team from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrived, led by ADC Asaduzzaman. Instead of arresting the attackers, they shockingly detained the victimsâLatif Siddiqui, Professor Hafizur Rahman, and at least 15 others. This is the so-called ârule of lawâ under Yunusâs autocratic ruleâprotecting thugs while punishing victims.
Even more disgraceful was the comment from Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, who supported the attackers and branded the participants in the discussion as conspirators, shamelessly declaring: âSeventy-one is our foundation, and Twenty-four is our liberation.â The truth isâJamaat collaborated with the Pakistani army in 1971, directly aiding in the massacre of 3 million people and the violation of 200,000 women. Today, this war criminal organization dares to claim that the Liberation Warâwhich they opposedâis the âfoundationâ of Bangladesh. This is nothing but a cruel mockery of the blood of our martyrs.
The reality is stark: the Islamist extremist groups that once perpetrated the 1971 genocide and denied the Liberation War are now resurfacing under new masks. Under Yunusâs patronage, this clique aims to obliterate the hard-won victories of the Liberation War, dismantle Bangladeshâs secular Constitution, and drag the nation back into the dark era of Islamist, undemocratic rule reminiscent of Pakistan.
