This is leverage.
Since in many LTN areas such as #RailtonRoad & #OvalTriangle, car owners are a small minority (although great in number), why not offer locals a vote on kerbside car storage?

But I can say that I have heard the same argument from motorists living next to Oval tube and Vauxhall rail station, in #OvalTriangle LTN.
The truth is that for LTN advocates in London, nothing which does not replicate the full convenience of cars will do.

This would enable a more distributed approach to public transport, surely ideal in current times?

You've got Clapham Rail in cycling range, Oval, Stockwell & Vauxhall tubes & stations, direct buses to Elephant, London Bridge, Victoria, Oxford St & Paddington.
The only improvement would be a shuttle bus; impossible, thanks to the ULTN.

The lack of bike racks provided as part of the "change to walking & cycling" is one clue impact on shops was not calculated.
A walk through #OvalTriangle shows many shops converted to residential due to high in-grid car ownership. We are now seeing the process in slow motion. 1/
One reason reducing car ownership is even more important than filters (apart from the fact ownership *causes* traffic anyway) is the damage it has done to independent shops over the years.
Car storage blocking shop fronts, causing conversions. Time to reverse that. #OvalTriangle

(This is the junction of A3 & Fentiman Rd)
(1) is data-led, (2) is conviction-led. But arguably, if you back your convictions, you won't fear data collection to frame the decision.
As it happens, #OvalTriangle looks like a good candidate for an LTN, based on falling car ownership (highly unusual in Lambeth/Southwark). 2/
@SophieMcGeevor One lesson from the #OvalTriangle LTN is that it helps if someone is on hand in peak hours to explain the routes people should be taking.
Drivers need to learn new routes and that takes time. There will be a lot less grief if they are helped to find those new routes.
Changes to improve the #environment for #residents in #oval should be supported when thought-through and consulted on. @lambeth_council has made changes to the #ovaltriangle without this basic due diligence. Petition to review here https://t.co/Madgg75ets
